Privacy Policy - Gesture Paint
This privacy policy applies to the Gesture Paint and Gesture Paint Pro apps (hereby referred to as “Application”) for Android, created by Nicola Corti (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”). Both apps are open-source and available on Google Play.
This policy is effective as of 2026-04-27.
Information the Application collects
The Application itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. No account registration is required to use it. All drawings remain on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.
However, the Application integrates third-party services that may collect certain data automatically, as described below.
Third-party services
Firebase (both versions)
The Application uses the following Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymised usage statistics such as feature interactions, session duration, device model, OS version, and approximate country/region.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports containing device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace of the crash. No personally identifiable information is included.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — collects performance metrics such as app startup time and network response times.
Data collected by Firebase is processed by Google LLC in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection by enabling “Opt out of Ads Personalisation” in your device settings, or by using a device-level analytics opt-out where available.
AdMob (Gesture Paint — Lite version only)
The Lite version of the Application displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use:
- Advertising ID — a resettable device identifier used to serve relevant ads.
- Approximate location — derived from IP address, used for ad targeting.
- Interaction data — whether an ad was viewed or tapped.
AdMob data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
GDPR / EU users: On first launch, users in the EU/EEA are shown a consent form (powered by the Google User Messaging Platform) before any personalised ads are served. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time by reinstalling the app.
Opt-out: You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on your Android device, or by resetting your Advertising ID.
Data retention
The Application stores no data locally beyond your drawings. Data collected by Firebase and AdMob is retained by Google according to their own data retention policies, which you can review in the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
The Application is a general-purpose drawing app suitable for all ages. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has inadvertently provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at the address below so appropriate action can be taken.
Security
The Application itself stores no personal data, so there is no risk of personal data being accessed through the Application. The security of data collected by Firebase and AdMob is governed by Google’s own security practices.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
